The Córdoba Risk Management Secretariat reported that there are two active outbreaks in the territory.

One of them is located in Bola Loma, jurisdiction of La Paz and the other in Embalse, near La Cruz.

In Paraje Santa Cruz, jurisdiction of Tulumba, volunteer firefighters, Etac personnel and a hydrant plane were working. The fire in the area was contained.

They warn of gusts of wind

On the other hand, the Córdoba Hydro-meteorological Observatory warned this Saturday of the arrival of strong gusts of wind from the north and northeast to various sectors of the province.

According to what they indicated, the maximum predicted intensities would be between 65 and 70 km/h for mountain areas, northwest and south of the province. Meanwhile, the rest of the province would have moderate gusts between 55 to 65 km/h.

Likewise, they highlighted that a marked increase in temperature is expected throughout the province, where maximum records could exceed 30 °C.

“The hot context, intense wind and dry conditions would constitute an extreme fire risk and the possibility of reduced visibility,” the agency noted.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO AVOID THE RISK OF FIRE

Below are recommendations to avoid the risk of fire:

  • Do not use fire without obtaining a controlled burning permit, which is not granted during this time.
  • Do not burn pruning remains, garbage, stubble and land weeding.
  • Carry out preventive practices within your reach on each property, such as: fire roads; cleaning of fences, construction of water reservoirs; availability of combat elements (shovels, whips, machetes, etc.); and swimming pool, or Australian tank filled throughout the year, as this water reserve is essential in case of fires.
  • Under no circumstances should you throw lit matches into the countryside, forests or wooded areas, remember that most fires originate and occur as a result of lack of caution.
  • Don’t make campfires; They are only allowed to be carried out in places authorized for this purpose (campsites, complexes, camps).
  • Under no circumstances should you light a fire under the trees, not only because of the danger of fire that this implies, but also because of the damage that heat causes to the plant, which is a living organism.
  • Keep in mind that the wind can spread a small campfire, causing a fire.
  • Never throw cigarette butts in the field.
  • If a fire starts in the grass and as long as it has not reached too much intensity, put it out by hitting the flame with a blanket or bag, wet if possible.
