Fireworks Injuries in Rotterdam: 18 Hospitalized, Including 2 Children – Latest Updates

Eighteen people were hospitalized during the New Year in Rotterdam (Netherlands), injured in the eyes by fireworks. Among the victims are two children, the hospital which treated them said Monday morning.

One of the injured was operated on and five others are due to be operated on during Monday morning.

The hospital was unable to communicate the seriousness of the injuries and their possible following-effects.

Half of those injured had not set off the fireworks but were present.

The two injured children are under 12 years old.
