First global declaration on AI risks

For the first day of the international summit on artificial intelligence (AI) bringing together politicians, tech giants and experts at Bletchley Park, 80 kilometers northwest of London, China, the United States, the Union European Union and around twenty countries have signed a declaration for the “safe” development of this technology which promises to revolutionize the global economy, but which also poses major risks.

The European Union and the 28 countries gathered at Bletchley Park – a place steeped in history, because it was in this mansion that the mathematician Alan Turing deciphered the code used by the Germans during the Second World War – set out to agreement on “the urgent need to understand and collectively manage the potential risks” of AI. Launched regarding a year ago, ChatGPT revealed the potential of so-called generative AI, that is to say capable of dialoguing in human language.
