On February 15, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it had shipped the shipment. liquefied natural gas (LNG) first to a port depot LNG Newly opened in Germany.

ADNOC said: “ADNOC and energy company RWE Aktiengesellschaft (RWE) today announced the successful delivery of the first LNG consignment from Abu Dhabi to the floating LNG terminal of Elbehafen in Brunsbuettel, Germany.”

ADNOC added that it transported a total of 137,000m3 of LNG, marking the first LNG shipment from the Middle East to Germany.

ADNOC Acting CEO Ahmed Alebri emphasized: “The successful delivery of the first Middle East LNG consignment to Germany shows that the UAE is continuing to work closely with strategic partners in supply. responsibly affordable and safe sources of energy.”

In September 2022, ADNOC also started supplying low-carbon ammonia to Germany.

Earlier this year, Minister German Economy Robert Habeck said Berlin planned to build 5 storage facilities gas offshore to end dependence on supplies from Russia.
