With the fifth win in the fifth game, Austria’s handball men secured first place in the European Championship qualifier on Wednesday. In Bucharest, Ales Pajovic’s team beat Romania 35:30 (19:17), the ticket for the finals in January 2024 in Germany had already been in their pockets. First place also puts Mykola Bilyk and Co. in Pot 2 and thus a better position for the European Championship draw on May 10th in Düsseldorf.
