Flights from German airports to the 30 most popular destinations during this summer vacation cost an average of 17 percent more than in 2022, according to information from the newspapers of the Funke media group from an evaluation of the comparison portal Check24. Only flights to Las Vegas are slightly cheaper this year.
The biggest price increase is for flights to Bangkok: The tickets have increased in price by an average of 52.6 percent to 1,096 euros. The price increase for flights to Rome was also particularly strong at 44.2 percent. Air travel to Barcelona is 38.7 percent more expensive this year.
“The increased prices for flight tickets are due to higher demand and increased operating costs of the airlines,” Christian Meier from Check24 told the Funke newspapers. When looking for the cheapest flight, a comparison of connections on different dates and from different airports can help.
