Florent Pagny was the guest of Laurent Delahousse, this April 3, in “8:30 p.m. on Sunday” on France 2, on the occasion of the release of his autobiography “Pagny by Florent”. In this book, which appears on Wednesday April 5 and which he started writing before the announcement of his lung cancer, the singer confides in a whole host of subjects: his career, love, the taxman. Several extracts appeared this Sunday in the press, in France. The star also talks about the disease and the first signs of cancer which had the gift of worrying her. Starting with this increasingly present cough: “It’s especially when I smoke my firecracker that it occurs. I’m starting to think something is wrong. Smoking becomes so unpleasant that I stop (…) When the information falls, I am knocked out. I take a slap that fucks me in the air before I tackle the ground, throat so tight that I can not breathe. The earth is collapsing. »
After a remission in June 2022, Florent Pagny made the decision to return to Patagonia, where he lives for a large part of the year with his wife, Azucena. “It was good, I had done my treatment. It had worked super well, it’s just that I was a little stupid for four to five months, ”he explained to Laurent Delahousse. “There was this relapse. Now it’s been a month and a half. In fact, the immunotherapy cycle is worth four months. And at home, in the fifth month, one night, it started. I coughed all night. With what had happened to me, I immediately got on a plane to go control. And I saw that there was a ganglion that had fixed. »
Today, the interpreter of “Knowing how to love” intends to treat himself well and follow his treatment. All of this, while remaining positive: “I’m doing really well, but I’m still following this logic where there is a clinical part. There, I’m going to do a third chemo and we’ll go and see what happened. Anyway, I will always be in control with this immunotherapy that I will not let go now and that I will have to follow and organize for a few years. »
The artist has finally proven to France 2 viewers that he is still capable of giving voice, performing exclusively his new duet with Kendji Girac, “Encore”, whose clip unveiled last February was shot at his home. , in Patagonia.
