Unanimously, the Florida Municipal Council approved the delivery of 100,000 gas cylinders to neighbors, which will benefit 80% of households and will have an investment of more than $1,500 million.

The Municipality of Florida announced that after reaching a unanimous agreement in the Council, it was agreed to implement a permanent policy of liquefied gas with the delivery of 100 thousand cylinders to the residents of the commune, reaching 80% of the homes.

Mayor Rodolfo Carter stressed that without distinction of political colors, the councilors approved the delivery “100 thousand cylinders of liquefied gas for Floridians and Floridians. During July and August, Florida will finalize this purchase for more than 1,500 million pesos, to reach 80% of the community and especially support the most vulnerable and middle class families”.

In this sense, Carter recalled that “advancing a gas policy at a fair price was a campaign promise of President (Gabriel) Boric. Unfortunately, Chilean men and women are already feeling the harshness of the cold and, so far, inexplicably, only a pilot plan has been announced by Enap to deliver six thousand gas cylinders in just three districts of the country. All is well with the residents of Chiguayante, Quintero and San Fernando, but intervening in the abusive gas market, which involves 20 million cylinders, with a pilot of six thousand balloons, is just a salute to the flag”.

Similarly, he stressed that the approval of a permanent policy on liquefied gas: “We did it during the pandemic, when this Municipality began a massive delivery of more than 500,000 gas cylinders, and as a municipality we verified the great difference in prices that exists in this market that the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office has denounced as not very transparent and with abusive practices”.
