Balloon fest full of excitement with colorful spectacle. The Balloon Fest has been organized in Pollachi under the leadership of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department. Many people including Malayalees come to enjoy the curious sight.
Fly in a giant balloon. Country and city can be seen. Those who love adventure can be a part of the fest. Balloons from eight countries such as Netherlands, Vietnam, America, Brazil and Canada are flying in the fair. An hour’s flight is no small sum to pay. If you pay twenty five thousand rupees, you can fly and see the view.
The charge for going up and coming down in a balloon is Rs.1500 to Rs.2000. Even if the cost is a little higher, Malayalis do not miss the opportunity to participate in the fair.
Many people come to Pollachi from Kerala. The fair is at Acchipatti, Coimbatore Road. A balloon was flown in the fair from Tamil Nadu to represent India. Earlier, the fair was conducted by private agencies and this time the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department has directly taken over the fair. The aim is to develop the tourism sector.
