[이데일리 스타in 김현식 기자] Following Taeyang, Daesung also leaves YG Entertainment (YG).

On the 26th, a representative from YG told Edaily, “Daesung has decided to terminate his contract with us.” He added, “It remains unchanged that Daesung is a member of Big Bang. Regarding the future of another member, G-Dragon, he adhered to the position that “the situation is under contract negotiations.”

Previously, on the same day, YG released a statement saying, “Taeyang will be working as an artist under The Black Label, a company affiliated with YG.” The Black Label started as a label under YG in 2016. Even now, YG owns about 30% of the shares. Teddy, who wrote hit songs for YG singers such as Big Bang, 2NE1, and Blackpink, is the head of the group.

After Taeyang’s departure to The Black Label became known, fans’ attention was also focused on the future moves of G-Dragon and Daesung, other members of his group, Big Bang. Among the members, TOP had already left YG in February.

On the same day, YG announced that they were “discussing the contract and future activities” regarding G-Dragon and Daesung’s future activities, but less than a day later, they announced again that the contract with Daesung was broken.

YG is emphasizing that even though their contracts with Top, Taeyang, and Daesung have ended, they are still members of Big Bang.
