Al-Marsad newspaper: The Food and Drug Authority denied the allegations regarding the presence of impurities and plastic secretions in the tea bags, stressing that all the materials used in the manufacture of tea bags are of food grade, and conform to the specifications of each.
She pointed out that the tea bags are manufactured so that the components of the bags, under normal or expected conditions of use at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, do not transfer to the food.
This came in response to an inquiry from a person regarding allegations of plastic impurities and secretions in tea bags.
