Food vendor shot to death in Mixco and written message found at the scene

A man was selling steaks in Colinas de Sacoj, where he was attacked by an individual who was traveling on a motorcycle, according to authorities.

The Municipal Firefighters of Mixco reported that on the night of Thursday, April 25, a man died from gunshot wounds in Colinas de Sacoj, zone 6 of Mixco.

They added that the victim was attacked by gunfire while selling steaks.

They also indicated that a note was left at the scene, the text reads: This happened to me as an extortionist and that will happen to those who are extorting.”

However, it will be the investigation that determines whether the note found at the scene is related to the crime.

While the 16th Police Station of the National Civil Police (PNC) reported that the armed attack took place on 2nd street and 2nd avenue in the Colinas de Sacoj neighborhood.

He added that the victim, who suffered several gunshot wounds, was identified as Dereck Waldemar Ríos, 30 years old, who was recognized by neighbors.

At the scene of the attack, investigators found several shell casings and blood stains.

According to the PNC, the motive for the armed incident could be extortion.

According to preliminary information, people passing by the place saw a subject dressed in black, wearing a helmet and riding a black motorcycle.
