Born in Sydney, Australia, but learned soccer in the United States, Delbridge made his professional debut with Sacramento Republic in the United States in 2014. After playing Portland Timbers 2 and FC Cincinnati, he signed with Melbourne City in November 2017 and entered the Australian A-League stage.
Delbridge, who also contributed to the team’s regular league runner-up in the 2019-2020 season at Melbourne City, advanced to the K League 1 in January 2021 wearing the Incheon uniform.
Delbridge, who was evaluated as having speed and foot skills as well as the ability to fight the ball in the air as a tall center back with a height of 190 cm, played 34 games in K League 1 last year, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists. He also played 27 games and provided 1 assist this year, contributing to Incheon’s progress to Final A.
Delbridge, who joined the national team for the first time, dreams of participating in the World Cup.
“This call is our last chance to join the squad ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in November,” Arnold said on the Australian Association’s website. “All players are competing for the final entries to be announced in early November. This camp will give you a unique opportunity to select new players.”
