For a healthy Ramadan fast.. these foods release energy slowly during the day

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– Are you keen on eating a hearty meal at the time of Suhoor to help you during the fasting period in Ramadan?

The official account of the Omani Ministry of Health indicated in a tweet on “Twitter” that it is preferable that the suhoor meal be light and low in fat.

It is recommended that the Suhoor meal contain foods that release energy slowly, including:

  • Wheat grain
  • lentils
  • oats
  • Beans
  • barley
  • milk and yogurt
  • wheat bread
  • Fruit and vegetable salad

During Suhoor, it is advisable to avoid preserved foods or fast food, and to drink enough water.

In general, eating fresh food, especially fruits and vegetables, drinking juice, milk, and eating salads, helps in providing a healthy Suhoor and facilitating fasting.
