The US police released videos that monitor the shooting incident on the set of the movie “Rust” last October, in which the film’s director of filming, Helena Hutchins, was killed by a bullet fired from the pistol of American actor Alec Baldwin.
Video footage showed police and paramedics at the scene, then Baldwin training in cowboy clothes with the pistol.
Baldwin had stated that the gun he was given was supposed to be completely harmless “I was told when the gun was given to me it was empty.” In response to those who criticized him for not verifying by himself that the weapon does not pose any danger, he stressed that he trusts the professionals who are entrusted with this task, and that verifying the safety of the weapon is not up to him. He said he and Halina Hutchins thought “the gun was empty”. On-set weapons supervisor Hana Gutierrez-Reid admitted to investigators that she had neglected to verify the weapon Baldwin had used prior to the incident.
