For the first time .. “Perseverance” monitors a climate phenomenon on Mars

Paris (AFP)

In good news in terms of studying the climate of Mars, the “Perseverance” rover was able to record the sound of the “dust devil” phenomenon, in a very important precedent that will help to better understand the climate of the Red Planet.
In a rare coincidence, on September 27, a whirlwind 118 meters high passed over the head of the robot and its “Supercam” instrument, which was equipped with a microphone that recorded the sound of the phenomenon, and the data reached the ground after a few days.
Martian dust whirlwinds, which resemble sand whirlwinds that strike some deserts on Earth, are one of the basic atmospheric phenomena on the Red Planet.
