At least 30 people were injured when the roof of a former convent collapsed during a wedding reception this Saturday night near Pistoia, a city in the Italian region of Tuscany, AP reports.

The reception took place in a restaurant located at the top of a hill that was formerly a convent, an architectural complex from the 15th century.

The governor of Tuscany, Eugenio Giani, declared in a message on his Telegram channel that five of the injured were in critical condition.

According to the governor, the victims who suffered trauma were evacuated to different hospitals in the area.

More than 100 rescuers are working at the crash site, at the former Giaccherino cathedral monastery, an official said in the latest update on what happened.

At this time, no one has been reported missing and the cause of the collapse has not yet been determined.
