Former police officers from Río Negro are sentenced for crimes against humanity

The General Roca Federal Criminal Oral Court sentenced the retired police officers of Río Negro Rubén Alcides Codina, Víctor Manuel Lobos and Elfio Enrique Navarrete for crimes against humanity during the last military dictatorship, although they will continue to be free.

Elfio Navarrete He was also convicted of the same crime in his capacity as official member of the Infantry Corps of the Police of the province of Río Negro, for two events in which Kader and Woolcock were victims. The sentence imposed was 3 years and six months in prison and the previous sentence that weighed on the policeman, of 7 years, was unified with a single sentence of 8 years and six months in prison and special disqualification for twice the sentence time. .

The court also defined having as proven the facts that harmed Ramón Pedro Fernández, Julio Alberto Salto, Hugo Jorge Palma and Eduardo Elvio Disnardo, under “the conditions that will be detailed when dealing with the materiality of the facts in the foundations of the sentence”.
