Incarcerated since August 22, Richard Dewitte appeared detained during a trial for immediate appearance at the criminal court, referred for the first time during the summer. He was found guilty of making sexual propositions to a 13-year-old girl via the site coco.fr. Behind the girl’s nickname was in reality a gendarme from the Paris research section.

Already convicted in the past

Richard Dewitte was arrested by the gendarmerie during a meeting arranged with the virtual teenager in Croissy-Beaubourg, in the north of Seine-et-Marne. He had already been convicted for similar acts, in February 2015 in Dijon and in September 2019 by the Paris Court of Appeal, the prosecution said.
