Former Walloon Minister-President and Mayor of Liège Jean-Maurice Dehousse has died

Born in Liège on October 11, 1936, Jean-Maurice Dehousse has held numerous political offices throughout his career. Affiliated with the PS, he was a federal deputy, senator, federal minister as well as the prime minister-president of the Walloon executive. This left-wing activist passed away at the age of 86.

Lhe former Walloon minister-president and mayor of Liège Jean-Maurice Dehousse (PS) has died, said Frédéric Daerden, president of the Liège federation of the PS, on Thursday, confirming press information.

“This is the end of the journey, for this Liège resident with a very Florentine character, skilful, cunning, who was a deputy, senator, Minister of Culture, European parliamentarian, but above all a spur to the left”, writes the RTBF on its website. .
