Vienna (OTS) “It is actually not at all surprising that ÖVP Labor and Economics Minister Kocher defends and supports the mocking words of ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer in the ORF press hour, as Kocher’s neoliberal fantasies are well known. If Kocher thinks that the Chancellor’s statements should be seen in context, then please: aloof, callous and heartless, that’s how Nehammer behaves towards all those who are poor and don’t know how to cope with their lives and those of their children “, reacts today FPÖ club chairman and liberal social spokesperson NAbg. Dr. Dagmar Belakowitsch.

“It can also only be sheer mockery and contempt when Kocher claims that it is wrong that there is widespread, manifest poverty in the country. After all, 200,000 people in Austria are actually in poverty and 1.3 million are at risk of poverty – that corresponds to 17 percent of the population! Where does this minister live? It must be its own little empire in a world of ‘alcohol and psychotropic drugs’, as its ÖVP chancellor already described. Neither this federal government nor ÖVP Minister Kocher has anything to do with reality, with the concerns and needs of the citizens – on the contrary, you only feel contempt,” said Belakowitsch.

However, Kocher is almost right about one point, because remaining in an FPÖ-led federal government under a People’s Chancellor Kickl is not only unlikely, but impossible! “That’s why new elections are even more important. The time for changes and the voting out of people like Kocher is here and essential!” Belakowitsch again called for new elections.
