Left-wing blindness on the part of the government and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution increases the risk of left-wing violence

Vienna (OTS) Today, Monday, the Freedom Educational Institute in Innsbruck has invited people to a panel discussion on “Left-wing extremism as a growing danger”. As if to prove the need for this reappraisal, left-wing extremists used threats, telephone and email terror as well as negative reviews to force the “Hotel Innsbruck” to cancel the event on its premises.

“Left-wing extremism is once again showing its undemocratic and violent face. Apparently a biotope has been created in the Tyrolean state capital under a Green mayor in which these enemies of the constitution can do their mischief undisturbed. This is also shown by the activities in the Antifa café ‘Lotta’, where the violent excesses of the notorious ‘Hammer Gang’ were allegedly planned in February 2023 in Budapest,” said FPÖ General Secretary Christian Hafenecker in response to the cancellation of the discussion, which is now taking place at another location becomes. Hafenecker is scheduled to take part alongside the AfD Bundestag member Martin Hess and the Tyrolean state party general secretary Patrick Haslwalnter.

The FPÖ General Secretary also sees responsibility for such conditions as lying with the federal government and in particular with the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in the Ministry of the Interior: “The massive left-wing blindness and ignorance towards left-wing extremism enhances this violent milieu and makes it feel safe. Interior Minister Karner has recently repeatedly emphasized in answers to questions that he sees no problem in left-wing extremism. He prefers to have patriotic people and organizations denounced by the far-left private association ‘Documentation Archive of the Austrian Resistance’ on behalf of the state and with payment from taxpayers’ money.”

Hafenecker also criticizes the “Hotel Innsbruck”, which canceled the booking of the room the day before the event: “I have a certain understanding that those responsible are afraid of left-wing extremist violence and want to protect their employees. However, I have no understanding why the managing director did not distance himself from the left-wing mob in an email to the organizers, but rather from the content of the event and, in line with the content of the left-wing extremists, attacked the AfD as a democratically legitimized party. There is a perpetrator-victim reversal in the worst sense here,” said the FPÖ General Secretary indignantly.
