The “lone perpetrator theory” is questionable in view of the tens of thousands of depictions of child abuse; investigative work by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior must be reopened

Vienna (OTS) “The fact that someone who has accumulated 76,000 files of heinous child abuse on his communications devices over decades should not spend a single day in prison is intolerable and shows that there is much that is wrong with our justice system. This must be eliminated by drastically tightening the minimum and maximum penalties – life is not a taboo for us, quite the opposite – as is also one of the demands of the comprehensive liberal child protection package. Apart from this scandalous verdict, much about the Teichtmeister case is strange, to say the least. There are many open questions to which people rightly expect answers!”, explained FPÖ federal party chairman Club Chairman NAbg today. Herbert Kickl and called on ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer to set up an independent investigative commission as quickly as possible, analogous to the Hypo Commission at the time, which would reopen the investigative work of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior in the Teichtmeister case.

“From the beginning, a ‘lone perpetrator theory’ was presented in this case, which is alien to reality. It is highly questionable that someone has accumulated tens of thousands of files of child abuse over the years, edited them himself and put his violent fantasies on paper, but did not communicate with anyone about them, did not forward them to anyone and there should be no accomplices and thus accomplices, is highly questionable. In addition, there was a veritable lightning trial that lasted a few hours and a lightning verdict against which the public prosecutor’s office did not appeal – ‘Quickly put the lid on it and it’s over’, you can’t avoid that impression!” says Kickl. An independent investigative commission must therefore check all investigative steps again in detail: “One thing is also a fact: in the past, in the case of such crimes, several perpetrators or an entire network were usually identified. Pedophile consumers of child abuse images almost never act alone!”

An FPÖ-led federal government and a liberal People’s Chancellor would have long since ensured that not only would no criminal convicted of such crimes leave the court in freedom, but the case would also have been subjected to a detailed investigation: “If Chancellor Nehammer would no longer have the case is rolled out again, then we Freedom Party members will ensure this after the coming National Council elections. Because nothing shakes the population’s trust in a political system more than the suspicion that, especially in the case of such heinous crimes, the victims of which are abused children, everything has not been solved or perhaps even turned a blind eye for whatever reasons.”
