Revival of our neutrality is more necessary than ever!

Vienna (OTS) – “It is really more than significant that the very party that has been burying our neutrality and sovereignty for years now suddenly sees the FPÖ as a ‘threat to neutrality’. Because the ÖVP alone, in cooperation with the green government partner, is responsible for the imposition of sanctions against Russia and the billions in gifts for Ukraine. It was precisely these black-green government leaders who dragged our country into a bloody war from which our constitutional neutrality would actually have protected us – and that too without a referendum,” criticized FPÖ European spokeswoman NAbg. “The black-green coalition has already continued this course against the interests of the Austrian population in today’s EU main committee, in which once again all liberal proposals were coldly rejected. By accepting our motion to veto the increase in the EU budget, the government could have sent a clear signal against these constant unscheduled additional burdens in Brussels. Instead, people apparently prefer to increase the EU’s multi-annual financial framework by 66 billion euros, which will continue to shamelessly milk net contributor states like Austria. Apart from a bloody extension of the war in Ukraine and unprecedented support for the American war industry, these billions in payments will evaporate within a very short period of time without any benefit. But our application against distribution quotas and compulsory payments for illegal migrants was also simply rejected by an ÖVP who was supposedly critical of migration. The ÖVP has once again impressively proven that it is nothing more than a bad PR show,” said the liberal European spokeswoman NAbg. Steger continues.

“But our sovereignty must also finally be protected from an EU that is becoming ever more invasive and power-hungry, which is now capitalizing on every crisis in a completely stubborn way, right up to the realization of its great goal of a United States of Europe. The Corona crisis was misused to implement a debt and transfer union, the climate crisis to curtail mobile freedom, the migration crisis to implement a mandatory refugee distribution mechanism and the Ukraine crisis to implement a wealth distribution model. As if that wasn’t enough, by overturning the unanimity principle, the Brussels centralists now also want to abolish the right of veto, as the last protective anchor of the nation state. If this succeeds, it will be: ‘Good night’ to Austria as an independent state,” said NAbg. Steger continues.

“In order to counteract all of these developments, we need a determined revival of our Austrian neutrality and thus also our sovereignty. Tomorrow’s national holiday would be a good starting point for this. At the same time, an expansion of Article 1 of the Austrian Federal Constitution would also be expedient so that we can defend ourselves against centralist attacks from Brussels in the future,” demanded FPÖ European spokeswoman NAbg. In addition to perpetual neutrality, Austria’s sovereignty must also be protected – from an overreaching and power-hungry EU that is gaining more and more powers in order to achieve its goal of a European central state. “And the ÖVP, as always, is at the forefront of this betrayal of Austria and this sellout to Brussels. It is therefore clear how important it is to anchor our neutrality and sovereignty in our constitution. And above all, it becomes clear to everyone in Austria how important new elections and how important the upcoming National Council elections are. With Herbert Kickl as People’s Chancellor and an FPÖ in the government, this robbery of sovereignty will finally come to an end,” promised the FPÖ-EU spokeswoman.
