With his record of 371 days in space during an official NASA mission in 2023, Rubio became the astronaut with the longest accumulated time in orbit, surpassing Mark Van de Hei, who held the previous record with 355 days in space. .
In addition to his achievements at NASA, the Salvadoran has been honored by the United States Army with the prestigious distinction of Army Astronaut, thus recognizing his outstanding military service.
