Frédéric Lopez has made some confidences about a potential return of his program A Sunday in the countryside at the start of the next school year.

June 2023 being now well advanced, the programs are coming to an end for this season and when asked about a potential return of A Sunday in the Countryside next year, Frédéric Lopez was particularly enthusiastic during a live Instagram broadcast this Thursday 22 June. “We took advantage of the good weather to shoot a few shows so I already know that there are moments that are exceptional,” said the host.
As for adapting his prime time show, the 56-year-old host wanted to express doubts.
“A Sunday in the countryside, in our jargon it’s called a talk show. It’s a program where we talk and it’s rare that at 8:50 p.m., we put on a program where we talk because there are fictions and murders. I don’t think the program is made for prime time.” However, it does not close the door to a derivative program. “But it won’t be in a house,” he said.
Frédéric Lopez had confided to us that the American presenter and producer Oprah Winfrey had been seduced by the concept of another of his programs, namely Rendez-vous in Unknown Land. “We had lunch together in New York. Then she saw the show with Zazie, which was very physical, because it was produced in terrible weather conditions. It put her off, but I continued to discuss with her teams, so wanting to develop an American version of La Parenthèse unexpected, hosted by a star who knows how to entertain. They had thought of Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of Will Smith, whom I did not know at the time.
