Shooting star rain

January 1 to 5, 2023

From the first days of the year, if you look at the sky under the Big Dipper, you will be able to observe the most important meteor shower of the year! Make yourself comfortable with a hot chocolate and enjoy the show! You will be able to see between 100 and 120 shooting stars per hour. The most active night will be January 3-4.

I go to the museum

January 8, 2023

Access to several museums is free on the first Sunday of each month. Exceptionally in January, free access is postponed to the second Sunday, January 8, 2023. Consult the map available on the Government of Quebec website to find the participating institutions in your region.

SEPAQ winter day

Until March 14, 2023

From December 28, 2022 to March 14, 2023, national park visitors will not have to pay daily access fees for 24 days, according to a predefined schedule and available online on the Sépaq website. Explore the various provincial parks to enjoy the joys of winter!

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing

Snow is expected in some regions, but many offer acceptable and even excellent conditions for practicing these winter sports! Consult our list to know the slopes where access is free.

Maneige Experience (Laval)

January 4 to March 19, 2023

Children aged 5 to 8 are invited to try their hand at downhill skiing or snowboarding for free. The activity takes place at the Center de la Nature de Laval, under the supervision of a team of animators. Skis, board, boots and helmet are provided!

Devil’s Mountain Ski and Snowshoe Festival (Laurentians)

January 21, 2023

Take advantage of the festival to discover the park and its cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. On the program: free or accompanied snowshoe hikes, introduction to cross-country skiing, guided ski tour, Nordic ski hikes and hot chocolate.

Access is free, but fees apply for certain clinics where registration is required.

Laval in white (Laval)

January 27 to 29, 2023

Laval en blanc is a free, festive winter event held at the Center Nature. On the menu: winter activities, dancing, shows, mini zip line, light character, bumper car, and more.

The Great Frisson of Rawdon (Lanaudière)

January 28, 2023

Frisson promises you a day with more than 20 free activities for all tastes!

On the program: Akroparc structure, mini Zipline, large tube slide, Snow Skate workshop with Atlas, giant games, plus jig and dance performances.

Belle-Rivière Woods Snow Festival (Laurentians)

January 28 and 29, 2023

To the delight of lovers of winter pleasures, the Bois de Belle-Rivière Regional Educational Park is pleased to announce the return of the snow festival! Several activities on the menu including bubble soccer, tube sliding, giant ball pool, fatbike, skating trail in the forest and many others. You are expected in large numbers!

Festi-Glisse (national capital)

January 28 and 29, 2023

Get acquainted with a host of winter activities during the Festi-Glisse. Young and old alike can practice fatbiking, sledge hockey and cross-country skiing, in addition to skating, sliding on inner tubes and taking part in a snow sculpture contest.

Saint-Eustache Snow Festival (Laurentians)

January 28 to February 11, 2023

Many winter activities await the whole family in Vieux-Saint-Eustache: skating on the Rivière des Mille Îles, sleigh rides, entertainment, snow slides for the little ones, not to mention the traditional hot chocolate offered free of charge to warm up. !

Family celebration in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts (Laurentians)

January 29, 2023

Roberval Ice Village (Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean)

An ephemeral village is built on the frozen Lac Saint-Jean. Visitors can skate, walk, play hockey, slide, attend animations, etc. Access to the site is free, but some activities and tent rental are subject to charges.
