A family textile business rooted in Panissières for over 160 years has crafted a digitally printed bed runner for the papal chambers in Lourdes, according to local reporting from TL7. The enterprise, known as Granjard, prepared the custom textile to adorn the room designated for Pope Leo XIV during his upcoming September 27 visit to Lourdes.

For more than a century and a half, Granjard has maintained its manufacturing footprint in Panissières. Specializing in professional textiles and interior decoration, the firm used modern production techniques for this papal commission. According to TL7, the company utilized digital printing technology directly onto a white fabric base to execute the design.

The resulting piece features a depiction of Bernadette Soubirous before the Grotto of Massabielle.

Precision Timing and a Complimentary Ligerian Gift

The timing of the delivery requires coordination as preparations ramp up. According to TL7, the bed runner was scheduled to be installed in the room ahead of the pontiff’s arrival on September 27. The regional manufacturer presented the custom textile as a gift from the Ligerian enterprise to honor the visit.
