At the Tulp on the Marie Heinekenplein in the Pijp in Amsterdam South you have come to the right place for a pleasant evening. You can come here for a drink, dinner or the tastiest cocktails.
All day shared dining
De Tulp uses an ‘all day shared dining’ concept where they have various snacks on the menu. When you open the menu, you will read the following text: “Our menu is made to try and taste together, so best enjoyed shared. Try a little of everything.” And that is exactly what we did.
The menu includes dishes from different cuisines. Many dishes are vegetarian or can be ordered as a vegetarian or vegan option. For drinks you can order vegan chicken popcorn, vegan gyozas or nachos. Do you want a well-filled stomach during dinner? Then go for a number of shared dining dishes such as the ‘creamy burrata’, ‘roasted cauliflower’ or the ‘Indian curry’. If you would like to have a dish for yourself, you can order one of the two burgers.

Roasted cauliflower
We tried five different dishes. We first ordered the vegan gyozas with sriracha sauce, hoisin, spring onion and sesame seeds. This was our favorite of the evening, truly a taste sensation! We also ordered the Tulip nachos, a delicious bowl of nachos with cheese, guacamole, jalapeños, salsa roja, red onion and fresh herbs. We also ate the roasted cauliflower that was served with macadamia, beurre noisette, curry cream and lemon vinaigrette. The Tulip smashed burger is a delicious Black Angus burger on a brioche with some salsa roja, lettuce, tomato, cheddar and red onion. Finally, we ate the Indian curry consisting of basmati rice, seasonal vegetables (our cauliflower and broccoli), yellow curry sauce and pieces of tofu. We also really liked this curry.

A sweet ending
After the various savory dishes we felt like having something sweet. We looked at the desserts on the menu. Apple pie, crème brûlée, chocolate mousse or a cheese board. All delicious! Ultimately we opted for ‘When life gives you lemons’, the lemon crème brûlée with cookie crumble, meringue, lemon verbena and a scoop of maple-walnut ice cream. This dessert is highly recommended!
To end the evening in style we enjoyed a portstar martini. If the restaurant is busy, you may have to wait a while for your cocktail (because the cocktails are very popular! ????), but with the first sip you realize that the wait was worth it.
De Tulp on Marie Heinekenplein in De Pijp is open every day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM and on Fridays and Saturdays even until 3:00 AM.
