Coroner Grigoris Leon was called today (29.03.2024) to comment on the decision of the Mixed Jury Court which imposed the sentence of life imprisonment on Roula Pispirigou for the death of her first-born daughter, Georgina.

The court unanimously found the 35-year-old guilty of attempted murder and the murder of her 9-year-old daughter.
“The court judges on the basis of all the case file and all the evidence and with the opinion of all the experts. I kept my scientific opinion constant since the evidence did not change”, said the medical examiner and president of the Medical Forensic Society, Grigoris Leon, speaking to LIVE NEWS.
“From the beginning the data showed me her guilt. Let me make it clear, however, that a medical examiner does not make a decision but explains the scientific data. Justice knows who the person who commits a crime is. The second trial is in process. The scientific data will give us the picture to predict,” he noted.
