Paternal innovation: From the Shadow Theater… Karagiozis and his company “move” to the Marionette Theater! The fellow carpenter and visual creator Kostas Salpistis is the one behind this ground-breaking artistic project, which is a pan-Hellenic originality!
It will be the first time, that the barefoot hero, his family, Hatziavatis and all the other beloved heroes of the berde, will come out of their… shadows and they will be transported in three dimensions, in a performance, as wooden puppets!
“P” was found in the workshop of the gifted woodcarver to St. Ioannis Pratsikas and presents, exclusively, the first puppets of the Karagiozi troupe, which will compose the puppet theater and indeed with new spartan stories!
Already, a well-known cultural association of Patras has contacted Kostas Salpistis, in order to undertake the production of the first Karagiozi puppet shows! Which is sure to cause… a wave!
“It will be an innovative artistic proposal, which I believe will be embraced by the public. Patras is, as you know, the city that Hellenized Karagiozis, now it’s time to present him on another level: And as a wooden puppet! 3D and with full movements of his body parts! I think it will be something completely different and original!”
Kostas Salpistis has already progressed the carving of several heroes, with Karagiozis and Hatziavatis already ready, since they are painted and dressed in their characteristic clothes.

At the same time, the charismatic artist of his father is preparing the first puppet exhibition, which will be hosted in the near future at the “Polyhedron” on Kanakari Street.
It will be a retrospective exhibition, with various incredible performances: Ballerinas, princesses, soldiers, elves, animals, children, wine bottles, fairy-tale figures, animals and other impressive subjects, which will captivate young and old!
