The fuel crisis continues to worsen in Cuba. The shortage has caused long queues throughout the country, while passenger transportation suffers significantly.
Given this scenario, the government in Villa Clara decided not to sell more fuel to private vehicle owners. A use released this Saturday afternoon night so it manifests.
“We inform the population that from the levels of fuel that are entering the territory today it is only possible to guarantee the basic services of the population such as medical emergencies, obituary services, ambulances, hemodialysis, Etecsa and the Electric Company depending on breakdowns, ”says the publication.
The government in the province decided to guarantee only a minimum amount of fuel to some private carriers that provide public transportation services.
Given the critical situation, the authorities say they are aware of the requests from the owners of motorcycles and private cars without an operating license. However, the note continues, “with total transparency we tell you that today we do not have the necessary fuel availability to establish the sale.”

The Villa Clara government indicates that when the fuel supplies arrive, the sale of gasoline to different sectors, including individuals, will increase.
“A figure will be assigned for this destination, always with a limitation on the number of liters,” the note concludes.
The central province thus becomes the first to eliminate sales to the private sector, a measure that could soon be replicated in other territories.
The Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy, recently stated on television that the fuel shortage will continue at least until May.
In the O Levy interview, he said that the current situation is due to the fact that suppliers have not been able to meet their commitments. This would be motivated, according to his words, by the economic situation in the world.
