The end of summer is often the busiest time for oil delivery companies. Unfortunately for them, this year, it is far from being the case: the orders do not follow.
Usually, prices are quite low and encourage you to fill up for winter, but here, we are far from it. Heating oil currently costs us 1.06 euro for an order of less than 2,000 litres.
As a result, customers hesitate, grope and wait, hoping that prices will fall: in fact, from one day to the next, prices can completely change.

Harry Hérion is an oil dealer in Marche-en-Famenne and is worried about the situation. “The citizen paid 850 euros for 1,000 liters at the beginning of July and now, for the same quantity, we pass the 1,000 euros“, he notes. It is therefore difficult for him to reassure his customers. “They don’t know if they should take it now and ask us a lot of questions. Even in the short term, we can’t see what the price will be next week!“
Olivier Neirynck is spokesperson for BRAFCO, the Belgian federation of fuel traders, and he advises customers to be patient. “To expect, cis to heal and you have to know how to order at the right time. A tip: pack the bags, prepare for the start of the school year at your ease and then finally, look at your gauge and order“.
