Montgermont, France – Get ready for mud, sweat, and cheers! The highly anticipated Racing Troll obstacle race is set to make it’s triumphant return to Montgermont, a charming commune north of Rennes, on Sunday, June 15, 2025. After a brief hiatus following its initial launch in 2018 and pandemic-related pauses, this celebrated “sports and fun” event promises a day filled with exhilarating challenges and unforgettable memories.
According to Marc Romfort, co-founder of the race, participants can expect a “modified course” designed to test their limits while delivering maximum enjoyment. The event, conceived by a group of excited joggers seeking a unique alternative to conventional online races, quickly gained popularity for its emphasis on teamwork, camaraderie, and good old-fashioned fun.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of organizers, in close collaboration with the Montgermont festival committee, has been working tirelessly since September 2024 to ensure the third edition of the Racing Troll is a resounding success.
“You have to think everything: civil security, bibs, obstacles…” explained Marc Romfort,highlighting the meticulous planning involved in bringing such a large-scale event to life.
We want to thank the 98 volunteers who help us,without them,we would do nothing!
Their hard work has paid off. The event is wholly booked. Spectators are welcome to come and cheer on the teams as they navigate the challenging course.
Disguises And Daring: What to Expect On The Course
The Racing troll promises a spectacle of both athleticism and creativity. This year,150 teams are registered. They are invited to showcase their originality through elaborate disguises as they tackle the nearly 8 km circuit winding through the town. The course features 19 daunting obstacles!
Participants will encounter a diverse range of challenges,from natural features like the “feudal clod” and a murky pond to deliberately placed obstacles such as tires,a towering wall,straw boots,a slippery foam machine,and a thrilling “ventriglisse.”
The course also includes a segment through the new CFA (Apprenticeship Training Center).
It is accessible to everyone. Physically, there is nothing insurmountable.
For the swift and skillful, fantastic prizes await the top three teams upon prosperous completion of all challenges.
