G20 Sherpa Summit Begins – G20 India

Udaipur (Rajasthan)∙ The first delegation meeting (Sherpa Meet) after India assumed the G20 chairmanship began. The main objective is to decide the agenda of the G20 summit to be held in India in September next year. India’s Sherpa Amitabh Kant gave direction to the discussions by focusing on the issues of paving the way for sustainable development using technology. Amitabh Kant said that this is the time when the opinions of the developing countries are respected, unlike when the developed countries used to decide the issues.

Apart from the representatives of the G20 countries, the representatives of the guest countries Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and UAE are also participating in the 4-day conference.

Former CEO of Niti Aayog and Kerala cadre IAS officer Amitabh Kant was appointed as India’s Sherpa in July. Sherpa is the representative of the head of state. Sherpa is responsible for planning and conducting various meetings related to the summit and leading discussions from the country’s point of view.

All party meeting today

New Delhi: The central government today called an all-party meeting for proposals regarding the conduct of the G20 conference hosted by India. Leaders of 40 political parties have been invited to the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

France hopes for India

London – French President Emmanuel Macron has placed full faith in India, which has assumed the post of G20 chairman. He said that he is sure that his friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi can build a stable and peaceful world.

Macro tweeted a picture with Modi and said that he thinks that India will work inspired by the concept of one land, one family, one future. Yesterday, US President Joe Biden also described India as a strong partner.
