The Galaxy A14 arrived on the market in two versions. After analyzing the model with 5G connectivity, it’s time to check out what the cheaper of the two has to offer. Does only the generation of the connection change?
In terms of design, both versions are very similar, as well as their measurements are similar. The A14 4G comes with more pronounced lines at the rear in a vertical pattern. It is also entirely made of matte plastic with good quality and grip. There is a biometric reader integrated into the power button that works well.
The A14 features a 6.6-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and a PLS LCD panel. The display is pleasing because it has a good level of brightness, but it lacks fluidity because it has a refresh rate of only 60 Hz. The sound is only mono, but it has good power and sound quality that is higher than the average for the basic segment.
Just like the 5G version, the 4G model also comes in two hardware options. The one we tested has an Exynos 850, but there is another with Helio G80. We have 4 GB of RAM to handle multitasking and even with RAM Plus activated to steal 4 GB of storage, it is still common to see the A14 struggle to keep many apps open at the same time.
The 5,000 mAh battery is quite productive, being above the 5G version that comes with the same capacity. The 15W charger that comes in the box takes two hours to fully fill the battery, which is acceptable for an entry-level device.
The photographic set consists of a 50 MP camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide camera and a macro camera of just 2 MP. The latter is completely useless and will hardly take a good photo. The others capture good images in favorable light situations. The camcorder records in Full HD, does not have stabilization, has agile focus and sound capture is in good quality stereo.
