Expanded from beta on the Galaxy S23 5G lineup*, Samsung’s Galaxy Enhance-X app is now available for a wide range of Samsung smartphones in the Galaxy Store. The new image editing app allows users to customize and remaster their photos as they wish, especially in times when unwanted shadows, lens distortion or poor lighting can get in the way of the perfect shot.
Powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Galaxy Enhance-X app offers comprehensive one-touch image enhancement, plus the flexibility to adjust specific features including HDR and Moiré.
Powerful and more accurate photo editing
For those times when you feel your photo needs an all-around enhancement, Galaxy Enhance-X’s Magic feature is an all-in-one solution that performs comprehensive and intuitive photo enhancements. With just one touch, the Magic function uses machine learning (Deep Learning) and AI to automatically enhance any visual noise, blur, and fine details, instantly and significantly improving image quality.

Galaxy Enhance-X also offers users a wide range of tools with which they can customize their images. HDR, for example, analyzes highlights, shadows, brightness and contrast, expanding the image’s dynamic range and making lighting richer, without compromising quality. Like many other Galaxy Enhance-X features, the app also offers different intensity levels, ranging from 0 to 4 in the case of HDR.
Also, images that we receive through social networks or other messaging apps often arrive compressed after being uploaded online. For these cases, the Upscale tool increases the resolution of images below 1 MP by up to four times, for sharp and consistent details.
To precisely target specific areas, Galaxy Enhance-X has functions such as Moiré Correction and Shadow Remover. With Fix Moiré, users are able to smooth out the repetitive, wavy patterns that often occur when taking pictures from laptops, TVs or monitors. Shadows sometimes appear in photos even when they are captured in well-lit indoor environments. For these moments, the Remove Shadows feature isolates and eliminates shadows, giving you bright images without unwanted silhouettes.

Galaxy Enhance-X’s features aren’t just limited to photos taken in the last 10 minutes. The Old Photo tool employs generative AI to restore and bring extra clarity to old or damaged images. When optimizing, Old Photo also keeps all face details (such as expressions) exactly as they were in the original photo, allowing the resulting photo to be sharper and more accurate.

Other key editing functions in the Galaxy Enhance-X app include Brighten, Correct Blur, Sharpen, Remove Reflections and Correct Lens Distortion, while the Portrait and Face features help optimize lighting and balance in portraits.

With Galaxy Enhance-X, users have the freedom to choose the exact changes they want, resulting in ideal images enabled by new levels of customization. Additionally, the app’s powerful AI tools can enhance previously captured or downloaded images, not just limited to images captured with Galaxy’s native camera app.
