During its Unpacked event, Samsung presented a brand new product: a connected ring.

South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is preparing the launch of its “Galaxy Ring”, a smart ring that collects data related to its user’s health. The device should be launched on the market in the second half of 2024, said the head of the brand’s health department.

The technology giant presented the connected object in parallel with the release of its new smartphone, the S24. No other details such as the functionalities of the connected ring or its price have been communicated yet.

However, it would be intended for people who wish to collect data related to their sleep without having to wear a connected watch. Similar rings, developed by other companies, can also measure heart rate and activity level, among other things.

Samsung is therefore not the first player to market such a connected ring. With its hundreds of millions of customers, however, the company would have more influence in changing the market than its smaller competitors.
