Samsung is the undisputed leader in the folding smartphone market, a market that is still in its infancy despite the efforts of the various brands involved. Sales of folding terminals, which represented 1.2% of the total in 2022 according to the research firm IDC, would have increased by 50% in 2023 with 21.4 million units sold. The Korean brand will announce on July 26 during its Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event its new generation of folding smartphones available in two models, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
