After truly enchanting us with its very first trailer, The Day Before finally blew hot and cold to the rhythm of the various trailers and speeches from the developers. Many players are even wondering if this might not be a huge scam set up by the Fntastic studio in order to make players pay for a game that does not have much to offer…
However, despite all the rumors and controversies that have largely tainted communication around the software, the latter is indeed concrete and even probably available at the time you read these lines. So, what is really about The Day Before? What can we expect in terms of gameplay? Will the game look good graphically? Without saying that the game is ugly, it seems quite obvious that the textures seem less fine, while the lighting effects appear much less precise and realistic, and the overall atmosphere is less successful. Likewise, while the character animations looked flawless, they now look much stiffer and choppier. We therefore hope that the developers will manage to improve everything over time with, one day, a visual patina worthy of the first trailer.
In addition, the developers already know that many environments could be explored in the game. We are thinking of forests, urban environments, snowy settings… all with a day/night cycle punctuating your wanderings: It would therefore be a shame not to be able to enjoy striking visuals!

According to the official description of the software, The Day Before is a post-apocalyptic MMO taking place in an America ravaged by a huge pandemic that has affected the vast majority of the population. Fact, each inhabitant contaminated by this famous virus then transforms into an infected person thirsty for blood and having the unfortunate tendency to wish you harm.
As a survivor, you will have to fight for your survival against all these zombies, but it will be equally important to watch out for humans if you want to amass as many resources and supplies as possible to survive as long as possible. The story begins like this when the hero we play is rescued by members of the Woodburry colony, a community that will truly serve as your family and refuge throughout your journey.

In exchange, your mission will be to find various objects and resources allowing the inhabitants to work on the reconstruction and evolution of this community. You will glean a whole bunch of rewards and even local currency in order to enjoy a renewed arsenal as you complete your objectives.
???? What gameplay features for The Day Before?
Just like many MMOs, The Day Before will let the player create their own character using a fairly comprehensive editor: size, musculature, hair, skin color, eyes, mouth… In short, you know how it works! Let’s also remember that the entire game will be playable solo, but also in cooperation, and thatit will be a question of PvPvE for clashes against real players, but also infected people controlled by the computer.
Through this adventure, you will explore a gigantic map bringing together the different environments of New Fortune City, an area located on the west coast of the United States. The developers also recommend visiting every corner of the map to find various resources, whether it be the street, underground, small houses or enormous buildings. Once all the supplies have been collected, You are free to use them or go to one of the different shelters to trade with other survivors.
Note also that these hubs will allow you to meet many NPCs and practice various additional activities to boost your skills. It will also be possible to fill your inventory with new weapons, ammunition, medicines, or even new recipes for food. Indeed, the survival aspect will very clearly be important in The Day Before since your state of fitness will be governed by several indicators: your energy, body temperature, dehydration and hunger.
Apart from survival, it will therefore be important to manage your inventory well, which still promises to be quite massive, with a lot of locations to store various objects. These could therefore be firearms, such as rifles and pistols, but also bladed weapons if you wish to opt for a more discreet approach. Alas, it seems that the shooting sensations are quite basic… Anyway, it will be possible to modify our weapons with a whole bunch of accessories in order to improve damage, range, handling and other aspects important for your survival.
Once on the battlefield, several options will be available to you: you can opt to travel on foot or behind the wheel of different vehicles such as Jeeps, trucks and even racing cars. Although travel by car is obviously faster, they will still require good management of fuel, potential punctures and the general condition of the vehicle if you don’t want to find yourself stuck in the middle of a horde of infected!
Finally, let’s conclude with one of the latest features presented by the developers: the one which will let you customize your shelter as you wish, in the manner of what a Fallout can generally offer. Furniture, decorations, materials, you can build a place in your image to rest and enjoy a few moments of peace.
