According to a media report, football professional Gareth Bale is about to move to American Major League Soccer. The 32-year-old Welshman is said to have agreed a one-year deal with Los Angeles FC, according to The Athletic.

The ex-Real Madrid star will thus become a teammate of Italian European champion Giorgio Chiellini. The Welshman should also be given the option of extending his contract by a further 18 months.

There was initially no official confirmation from the club from the USA for the change. The Welsh international’s contract with Champions League winners Real Madrid expires at the end of June.

Bale’s agents recently confirmed to the BBC that the offensive player is negotiating with the Welsh second division club Cardiff City. According to the report, talks were also held with other clubs.
