The price of gasoline in Seoul, which has the highest oil price in the country, rose by 12.4 won from the previous week to 1,820.6 won per liter.

Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop), through the weekly price trend of domestic petroleum products of Opinet, an oil price information system, reported that the selling price of gasoline at gas stations in the fourth week of August increased by 13.1 won to 1,740.8 won per liter compared to the previous week, diesel by 29.4 won to 1,617.7 won, It was announced that indoor kerosene showed 1,349.8 won, up 10.0 won.

By brand, thrifty gas stations had the lowest selling price, while SK Energy brand gas stations had the highest price.

The selling price of diesel at SK Energy brand gas stations increased by 28.6 won to 1,626.7 won, and the gasoline selling price at GS Caltex brand gas stations increased by 12.0 won to 1,748.5 won.

At S-OIL brand gas stations, gasoline rose 12.3 won to 1,742.6 won, diesel rose 29.1 won to 1,616.4 won, and HD Hyundai Oilbank brand gas stations increased gasoline by 12.3 won to 1,740.8 won, and diesel rose 28.5 won to 1,618.0 won.

Following thrifty gas stations, private label gas stations with low sales prices recorded KRW 1,727.4 for gasoline, up KRW 14.7, and KRW 1,595.8 for diesel, up KRW 30.9.

Gasoline sales prices by region were 1,820.6 won per liter, up 12.4 won from the previous week, and 79.8 won higher than the national average.

Jeju-do sold gasoline at 1,764 won per liter, the second highest selling price nationwide after Seoul. Incheon 1,753 won, Gyeonggi-do 1,750 won, Gangwon-do 1,749 won, Sejong 1,742 won, Chungbuk 1,740 won, Chungnam 1,739 won, Gyeongbuk 1,737 won 1,736 won in Ulsan, 1,733 won in Daejeon, 1,729 won in Busan, 1,728 won in Jeonbuk, 1,727 won in Jeonnam, and 1,722 won in Daegu and Gyeongnam.

The price of gasoline in Gwangju, the lowest-priced region, increased by 13.9 won from the previous week to 1,706.5 won, which was 34.3 won lower than the national average.

In the third week of August, which is one week later than the selling price at gas stations, the supply price of each product at refineries increased by 12.1 won to 1,626.2 won for gasoline, 13.7 won to 1,554.9 won for diesel, and 1,201.8 won for indoor kerosene, up 2.4 won from the previous week.

As for the supply price by refinery, S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al-Hijyaji), the highest priced oil refiner, recorded 1,635.5 won per liter for gasoline, up 6.9 won from the previous week, and 1,563.0 won for diesel, up 14.9 won per liter, respectively.

HD Hyundai Oilbank (CEO Joo Young-min) increased gasoline by 3.0 won to 1,634.6 won, diesel by 1.2 won to 1,556.3 won, and GS Caltex (CEO Heo Se-hong) by 38.8 won to 1,629.7 won and diesel by 30.5 won to 1,554.4 won.

SK Energy (CEO Cho Kyung-mok), the lowest priced oil company, showed gasoline prices at 1,615.5 won, up 1.5 won from the previous week, and diesel prices at 1,546.1 won, up 4.1 won from the previous week.

Meanwhile, international oil prices declined in the fourth week of August due to factors such as an increase in US weekly inventory of petroleum products, concerns over China’s economic slowdown, and Iran’s continued increase in oil production.
