The United Nations has warned that Gaza hospitals’ fuel stocks (for power generation) are only expected to last about 24 hours. The United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Office stated on its official website that “turning off backup generators will put the lives of thousands of patients at risk.”

Prior to this, some aid organizations had requested that they be allowed into Gaza to provide humanitarian assistance including fuel and drinking water.
Earlier on the 15th, Ghassan Abu Sitta, a British-Palestinian surgeon who works for Doctors Without Borders in Gaza, warned that the staff at his hospital did not have enough equipment to help those in need. He told the BBC: “Regarding the use of medical resources, in this emergency, we are using a month to a month and a half’s worth of medical supplies every day.”
Hamas militants brutally attacked Israel on the 7th, killing more than 1,400 Israelis, and Israel immediately launched violent air strikes on Gaza. Large-scale Israeli air strikes have killed at least 2,450 people in Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian Health Authority said that 300 people were killed and 800 injured in Gaza in the past 24 hours.
The Israeli military told residents living in the northern half of the Gaza Strip on the 13th, including more than 1 million people in Gaza City, to move south immediately. Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari reiterated on the 15th: “Hamas is trying to prevent your evacuation, but we have permission to move south. For your safety, please leave Gaza City and all surrounding areas. .”
Some Palestinians who traveled to the south said they wanted to return to the north because they were attacked wherever they went.
Hussam Abu Safiya, an intensive care physician at the children’s ward of Kamal Edwan Hospital in northern Gaza, said the order to evacuate was impossible. “As you can see in the wards, there are children here who are on ventilators, and now we are being asked to evacuate the hospital, so where do we evacuate these children?”
