Gennaro Gattuso: Career, Achievements, and Marseille Departure

Gennaro Gattuso (46 years old) is no longer the coach of Marseille, according to several media. The Italian was dismissed the day following a 1-0 defeat at Brest which left the club in 9th place in Ligue 1.

Gattuso, who began his coaching career with a brief stint on the bench of FC Sion from February 25 to May 13, 2013, had been at OM since September 2023. Previously, he notably managed AC Milan (2017-2019) and Naples (2019-2021), with whom he won the Italian Cup in 2020.

It was as a player that this aggressive midfielder revealed himself. He spent most of his career at AC Milan (1999-2012) before finishing at Sion (2012-2013). Gattuso also has 72 caps with the Italian team with whom he won the 2006 World Cup. With AC Milan, he notably won the Champions League twice (2003, 2007) and the Serie A twice. (2004, 2011).
