Genshin Impact is still planned on Switch

We’ve learned that the Switch version of Genshin Impact is still in the works, though we haven’t heard of it in years. In 2020, it was announced that Nintendo Switch portability for Genshin Impact would be rolling out, but at the time no date was given.

We are now in 2022 and not only is there still no expected release date, but not much information about this portability has come out. So little that there has even been speculation about the cancellation of this release.

It turns out that’s not the case. GoNintendo received an update from developer miHoYo on this and apparently the portability of Genshin Impact on Switch is still relevant:

“The Switch version is still in development and we will release more information as we progress,” miHoYo said in a statement.

Of course, this is still meager information and it still doesn’t tell us anything about the planned release date for the port. Although those who thought it was canceled and were disappointed by the thought may be somewhat happy that things are continuing in a good way.

Due to the lack of information, it is unknown what caused such a delay in the release of Genshin Impact on Switch.

What we do know is that they made more than enough money to fund a Genshin Impact port on Switch. As a reminder, Genshin Impact has surpassed $3 billion in revenue just on their mobile versions.

At the same time, it was also reported that game update 2.7 had been delayed with no release date set. With fears related to the return of Coronavirus VOVID-19 and the lockdown occurring in China during this time, it is also expected that work on the Switch port of Genshin Impact will have suffered the same setbacks as plans for their new update.
