Like Fernand Obb Delicatessen in 2018 and 2019, the “Georges Breweries” offered themselves a double on Sunday by winning for the second year in a row the coveted title of best shrimp croquette in Brussels. This fourth edition of the competition, organized by the regional tourist office visit.brussels, brought together 20 establishments in the capital .
The jury decided blindly between the variations of the little queen of Belgian gastronomy, as part of the Eat culinary festival which has been held since Thursday at Tour & Taxis. The Brasseries Georges, located in Uccle, once again won the prize and won the prize, ahead of the Brasserie des Alexiens (Brussels-City) and the Brasserie Ommegang (Brussels-City) which complete the winning trio.
The taste of course, but also the crispy shell and the quality of the shrimp are some of the criteria which guided the choice of the jury, made up of gastronomic journalists, the winner of two first editions Cédric Mosbeux and chaired by the chef of “Like home“Lionel Rigolet.
To submit their application, participants must have an active establishment, canteen, counter or food truck located in the Brussels-Capital Region and offer homemade shrimp croquettes à la carte.
