Former F1 driver Gerhard Berger said Ayrton Senna, who teamed up with his teammates during the McLaren Honda era, was the “best” driver he had met, and how much he could match him in the same car. I revealed that it was a challenge.
In three seasons at McLaren Honda, Ayrton Senna won two F1 World Champions in 1990 and 1991. During that period, Senna has 16 wins against Gerhard Berger’s three wins.
Gerhard Berger feels he was able to rival Ayrton Senna in terms of his natural talent, but there was a factor that valued Senna more than any of his other teammates.
“He’s definitely the best I’ve met over the years,” Gerhard Berger told Motorsport-Magazin.
“I can mention a lot. First, Senna started driving a kart when she was four or five. He was already a professional kart driver at the age of six. Before coming to F1, Senna said It must have started 400 times. “
“I added up all the races from the beginning of my career to the start in F1 and it was around 40. It created a backlog that was hard to catch up with.”
