Germany’s Military Assistance to Ukraine and the Future of European Support

Germany will not increase military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because Berlin has already done everything possible. This was stated by the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius.

“We cannot go all-in, as some people demand. Otherwise, we ourselves would be defenseless. So far we have done everything we could,” Boris Pistorius said in an interview The Daily Mirror.

The head of the German Ministry of Defense recalled that his country, among other EU states, provides the greatest support to Ukraine. Pistorius suggested that other European countries should be more active in funding the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The US stopped sending packages of military aid to Kyiv in the middle January 2024. The new package will arrive only after the adoption of the corresponding law, which may stall in Congress. US President Joe Biden warned about this.

Against this background, Pistorius warned that Ukraine risks being left without US support. According to him, it will not be possible to quickly and completely compensate for production volumes at the expense of European countries, reports RT.
