Batches of a well-known German mineral water are contaminated with mould. The products are therefore now being recalled.
Because it was found in some products that mold can form in the bottles, the manufacturer informs Gerolsteiner about the recall of a batch of “Gerolsteiner Naturell” in the 0.75-liter individual bottle (via: Produktwarnung.eu).
The consumption of moldy products can cause skin irritations, mucous membrane irritations, allergies and asthma in humans. Although the affected products are “harmless to health” according to Gerolsteiner, consumption is not recommended.

Other Gerolsteiner bottles or products are not affected by the recall and can be consumed without hesitation. The products were sold exclusively in markets in the south-west of Rhineland-Palatinate and in Saarland.
Customers can also return the bottles to the respective shops without presenting a receipt and for a refund of the purchase price.
