The Paleo Pines trailer is revealed, a sim like Stardew Valley with loads of dinosaurs. Stardew Valley has only grown in popularity since its release, and Paleo Pines may well help cater to the casual game crowd. Sim games have attempted to imitate the comfort of the harvest moon with varying degrees of success since the 1990s. Among the cool simulation games on modern hardware are Coral Island, My Time in Portia, and Seasons Story. While the latter is a modern take on the Harvest Moon formula, most other simulation games provide their own unique twist on the genre. While Stardew Valley features dinosaurs, Paleo Pines seems to offer more dinosaurs to set it apart from other sims. Though Astronomy: Survival Evolved may scratch some players’ dinosaur itch, Paleo Pines seems more kid-friendly. Customizable Paleo Pines The protagonist can tame dinosaurs, interact with various NPCs, grow crops, and expand their farm. The rundown farmhouse is shown in several different looks to highlight the customizable Paleo Pines version of the player’s housing. The Paleo Pines trailer revealed three different biomes for players to explore, including grassy, rocky, and oasis areas. During the Paleo Pines trailer, the protagonist comes across a moon statue which would suggest there are secrets to be discovered as in Stardew Valley. Similar to Stardew Valley and Story of the Seasons Farmer, Paleo Pines players will slowly upgrade their rundown properties as they begin their adventure. The trailer shows six different types of dinosaurs, three of which are disposable. Humans and dinosaurs team up with each other in Paleo Pines, as the promotional clip reveals different ways prehistoric creatures can help with everyday activities. Although the Paleo Pines trailer only hints at this, these buildable dinosaurs offer their own unique abilities. At one point, Triceratops breaks a rock by pouncing on it, the theropod jumps into a tree trunk to destroy it, and Diplodocus strikes bushes to remove it from the plantation. These dinosaurs may provide more than one ability, as some are shown performing different tasks. Although Modus Games has the max soccer simulation gaming experience, Paleo Pines will be their first farming chip. While the Ark: Survival Evolved may offer some things in Paleo Pines, the new farming chip strives to bring a more comfortable gaming experience to dinosaur fans.
